To me, wedding photography isn’t just about turning up on the day to snap a few pictures. I want you to enjoy the whole process from meeting me to receiving your wedding album.

 

I will keep in touch to help you plan your engagement session, finding the best location and helping you pick the perfect outfit. If you want to send me some mirror selfies go for it, heck if you want me to come shopping with you I will!! I will guide you through the engagement session and show you some posing tricks as well as throwing some stupid jokes at you to make you laugh. All the while I’ll discreetly capture some awesome shots.

 

I will help you fine tune your timeline and figure out how to keep your group shot list short so you don’t have to stand for hours and get tired of smiling and calling out for missing guests.

 

I want us to be like friends. (Did you just cringe a little bit reading this sentence? I did too when writing it but hear me out:) if you think about it, as your wedding photographer I will be spending more time with you than any of your guests. So I think it’s essential that you pick a photographer not only who’s style you absolutely love but also who you really get on with, someone you know you will have fun with (that’s me!).

 

The experience doesn’t stop once your wedding day is over, my job is to capture all the details, the smiles, the (happy) tears, and the fun – including all the funny moments like a drunk groomsman trying to break dance, the flower girl gracefully picking her nose or auntie Carol caught mid yawn during the ceremony – so that when you receive your gallery you can relive your wedding day through the photos. And what’s awesome about photos is that they last forever. Literally. The cake will be gone within minutes, the make up wiped off and the dress tucked away in your wardrobe. But the photos will be there for you and your family to look at over and over to relive all those special moments.

I offer a £100 discount off my full day collections for any couple who gives me full rights to use their images (on social media, on my website, in competitions, for marketing purposes…). This does not necessarily mean images will be plastered all over social media!

So if you want photos taken of the both of you getting ready, you will definitely need a second photographer.

Having a second photographer is also really helpful during the ceremony to get different angles. For example capture shots of you walking down the aisle AND your partner’s reaction, the vows, exchange of rings and first kiss from the front AND the back of the room… You get the idea!

Long answer: I can take group photos but I would very much recommend limiting these to 5-10 photos. Otherwise it is a little bit of a waste of everyone’s time, it can be a nightmare to organise and you will get bored/annoyed very quickly. Plus your guests will probably look at the group photos once, think ‘Oh that’s nice’ and move on to the rest of the (much more interesting and fun) photos of the day.

I always ask my couples to keep at least one hour free after the ceremony to escape the guests and go explore the venue/grounds for couple photos. If you have specific requests or if the grounds/venue are huge we may need the whole hour to walk to and from different locations.

It will depend on the number of hours I am shooting, the location, the number of guests and activities etc… Last summer I delivered an average of 550 photos per full day wedding with two photographers.
