On Sunday I had the privilege of photographing the first ever wedding at Villiers Barn and it was GORGEOUS!
When Danielle, the bride, messaged me a few weeks ago to tell me that their wedding would be the first ever wedding to be held at Villiers Barn I was hella excited. I decided to get there early on Sunday so I’d have extra time to do my usual venue reckon, walk around the grounds and introduce myself to the lovely people running the venue, Juliet & Jonathan. These two were an absolute pleasure to work with, they made me (and everyone else) feel welcome and looked after me so well all day making sure I had drinks & food (you’d think it’s common courtesy but I’ve gone through entire weddings without being offered even a glass of water before…)
Danielle & Adam visited Villiers Barn a couple of years ago when it was still under construction but they were able to see past the mess and dirt and envision what their wedding day would look like. Little did they know their wedding would be the first ever wedding at Villiers Barn! Juliet & Jonathan were due to open in April 2020 but Covid decided to show up and f everything up forcing them to postpone the opening…
To mark the occasion, Juliet & Jonathan tied big bow around the doors and had Danielle & Adam cut the ribbon, inauguration style. It took them a couple of tries because the scissors weren’t the sharpest (not pointing any fingers but I think they were Juliet’s scissors…) but when they finally managed to cut the ribbon it was a bit of an emotional moment!
